序：对流之间
深圳如果是一个梦想的发电厂，那作为它重要组成的大芬，亦同样如是。
大芬村是一个特殊的地方，在中国当代社会经济急速发展的特殊现状下，大芬村的特殊也就有了其必然性。当“艺术”被“产业化”时，这两个词便同时拥有了别样的含义。在这种极具社会学意义的现实背景下，大芬村让更多的人对艺术有了更多元的理解，而艺术也为大芬村创造了更多的可能性。2010年上海世博会深圳案例馆将大芬村的再生故事作为叙事主线，也正是因为看到了其成长过程背后的当代意义。
“对流·2010·大芬国际当代艺术展”是大芬美术馆作为本次上海世博会深圳案例馆的深圳互动展场而举办的活动之一，同时，也是大芬美术馆举办的第一个国际性当代艺术展。作为展览核心部分的主题艺术展，参展作品形式多样，受邀参展的20位国内外艺术家亦都在国际艺术界上享有盛名，更重要的是：他们都对大芬村的现状与发展模式心怀强烈的认同感。他们用各自不同的视角及表现形式，演绎出深圳作为亚洲全球化、中国现代化进程的代表城市的特殊性，及其在全球化进程中产生的因物质发达而具有的产业特性。从大芬美术馆对当代多元文化艺术的包容中不难看出，大芬美术馆为深圳当代艺术的发展提供了更多的可能性，在不久的将来，它也必定可以有效地推动深圳市文化艺术的发展。
而众多扎根于大芬村的艺术家与画廊代表，也将在此呈现他们的高水准作品，“在大芬”项目将会展出近百幅最能呈现大芬村真实艺术现状的绘画作品，以此实现与主题展艺术家及作品的 “对流”。
此外，也将有深圳市百名小画家在艺术家的带领之下共同进行创作，与艺术家一起体会当代艺术给人们带来的思考和影响。
与此同时，我们还将举办“对流·论坛”，邀请众多艺术家、建筑师、设计师，以公开讨论的形式，展开对大芬村现状及当代艺术的讨论和思考。
我们试图通过展览的形式来讨论这种特殊而充满活力的现代化模式及当代艺术文化现象，在这样一场多元化、高学术标准、有着极大社会意义的盛会呈现下，让世界了解一个别样的大芬。让我们跟随诸多艺术家的脚步，从深圳大芬村出发，由此踏上奇妙的艺术之旅吧。
我们相信此展览必将值得期待且意义非凡。
Between Convection
If Shenzhen is considered as a power station for dreams, then it is also the essential fact of Dafen, as it has been the important part of the power station.
Dafen Village is a unique place. Since it is under the special circumstances of China's contemporary rapid developing economic society, such uniqueness of Dafen becomes inevitable. When "art" is being "industrialized", both the words "art" and "industrialize" are meant differently. In this very context of sociological reality, Dafen Village helps more people to wider understand art, meanwhile, art creates more developing possibilities for Dafen Village. Such contemporary significance behind Dafen Village's development, is actually the key reason that the Dafen Village Regeneration Case was selected to be the exhibiting case for Shenzhen's participating in Expo 2010 Shanghai.
Being one of the sub-venue event of Shenzhen Case Pavilion for Expo 2010 Shanghai in Dafen Village, Convection·2010 Dafen International Contemporary Art Exhibition is also known as the very first international contemporary art approach in Dafen Art Museum. In the essential part of the exhibition – convection themed art exhibiting, various types of artwork are participating and the 20 national and international artists behind the works are well known in the Art world. The more important thing is, all these artists understand Dafen Village's actual status and mode of growth. Through their different perspectives and tactile, and ways of expression, they act to demonstrate Shenzhen as the most dynamic Asian global city representing the modernism development in China, with their creation under the premise of industry characteristics driven by developed material in the globalization process. And from the cultural inclusiveness and diversity of Dafen Art
Museum towards contemporary art, it is not hard to find out the more and larger possibility of Dafen Art Museum's future, which will be effectively promoting the museum's positioning and importance in arts and cultural development in Shenzhen.
A great number of Dafen artists based in the village and gallery representatives will be present at this exhibition as well, with their high-standard artwork. Through the "In Dafen" programme, around 100 pieces of oil paintings will be displayed to reflect Dafen artists' colorfulness and the real art situation in the village. Furthermore, this programme would help the communication between village artists and "foreign" artists flows into the real "convection".
In the exhibition, there will also be an on-site group drawing event, joined by a hundred child painters from Shenzhen, together create the "History of 100 Years" led by the artist. This experience is believed to bring both participants and audiences more thinking and influence on contemporary art.
Meanwhile, a "convection·forum" will be held, that artists, architects, and graphic designers are invited to join to face the public and discuss, to further explore the developing status of Dafen Village and thinking about contemporary art.
By this exhibition, we try to discuss the unique dynamic modernized pattern and contemporary art phenomenon. We also try to let the world know a different Dafen village via such a diverse art event with high academic standards and great social significance. Just follow the artists' footsteps, starting from Shenzhen Dafen village, and get into the fantastic art journey.
We believe this exhibition will be significant and worth joining.
